SCA Training Partnership with Parenta

Parenta and the Suffolk Childcare Agency (SCA) are working in partnership to transform support for childminders by offering a range of qualifications to SCA members and associates (subject to meeting the funding eligibility criteria below). This collaboration is designed to enhance the professional development of both individual childminders and their wider networks.

Recognising the time constraints faced by early years professionals, all courses are delivered in a flexible, on-the-job format, allowing your staff to upskill without the need for college attendance.

In response to the staffing challenges within the early years sector, we’ve also introduced our Fast-Track Level 3 qualification to help meet these demands. Below, you’ll find a list of the available courses - simply click the links to learn more about each one.

Why Invest In Training?

Childcare training is essential in every setting. It’s a great way to learn, develop and climb the career ladder. It also ensures that the children get the most out of their time in your care. Hiring an assistant can be a game-changer for childminders, allowing you to manage your workload more effectively and provide higher-quality care to the children in their setting. With an extra pair of hands, childminders can better balance the demands of administrative tasks, supervising children, and creating enriching learning experiences. An assistant also offers flexibility, enabling the childminder to handle larger groups of children while maintaining the required staff-to-child ratios, which can increase the capacity of the business. Having support in the day-to-day operations allows childminders to focus more on planning activities, building relationships with families, and fostering each child's development.

The benefits of hiring an assistant extend beyond operational efficiency. By working collaboratively, a childminder and their assistant can provide more personalised attention and care to each child, which is essential for meeting their individual needs. This collaborative approach also offers continuity of care, as one adult can engage with children while the other handles any urgent matters. Additionally, bringing an assistant on board creates opportunities for professional development and mentoring within the setting, fostering a supportive environment for both the childminder and the assistant to grow in their roles. Ultimately, this partnership can improve the overall quality of care and help the childminder run a smoother, more responsive business.
